Q:   Is changing to Northern New Mexico Gas (NORTHERN) a simple process?

A:   Yes.  It all starts with a call to the Northern customer service specialists who will be able to begin your account set up on the phone.  If more information is required, we can have a licensed technician stop by your property for a no-obligation consultation.  Often, it’s easier to have our trained technicians take a look with you to examine your specific situation.  This will allow us to make custom recommendations for you.  We make it all very simple and painless!

Q:  My current tank belongs to another supplier.  Does NORTHERN provide loaned tanks?

A:  Yes!   We have tanks of every size.

Q:  I have an underground tank owned by another supplier, can I still change to NORTHERN?


Q:  Do I need to wait until my propane tank is empty before changing to NORTHERN?  

A:  Normally no. Some of gas companies have a “cancellation fee” or “tank pump out fee” for any gas remaining in your old tank so it’s best to consult with one of our PROPANE PROFESSIONALS™ to see how best we can assist you.  One suggestion that we DO have is to be certain to place a big sign inside the tank lid of your old tank if you don’t want a refill.  It is a common trick for companies to immediately FILL YOUR TANK the day you call to say stop deliveries.  It’s a tactic to keep you as a customer by adding expense to the switch.  If you’re making a move – put a sign under the lid and even take a photo of it so when they want to get paid, you have proof denying delivery and can tell them to hit the road.

Q:  Does NORTHERN have installation and repair services for my gas burning appliances & heating system and are they available after hours?

A:  Absolutely!  Our service staff is available 24/7 so any time you have a problem we’re just a phone call away any time night or day!  We also sell premium propane appliances in the event you are looking for new applications.
